David has worked in the hospitality business since the age of 13. In the summer of 2006, at 24 years old, he opened Death & Company, a cocktail bar in the East Village of Manhattan. 

Since then, Death & Co has expanded across the country, earning top accolades including placements on the World’s 50 Best Bars and an array of awards at Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards (World’s Best Menu, America’s Best Cocktail Bar). In 2018, Gin & Luck was formed as the parent hospitality group to the Death & Co halo brand with David at the helm as CEO alongside Alex Day as COO. The team has produced three award-winning cocktail books, developed a direct-to-consumer retail site, and more. 

When not on the road, David can be found at home in Seattle with his wife Jenna and daughter Aria.
