Director of Operations
Michael was bit with the hospitality bug at an early age. Having been lucky enough to live overseas a kid, he was exposed to different cultures, cuisines, and ways of life. Learning how to do adapt to change he developed an understanding of what it felt like to be welcomed someplace new. This helped shape his desire to explore a career in creating exceptional experiences for others. After attending The University of Hartford, he enrolled at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC and earned degrees in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. During that time, he began what would be a nine-year career with Union Square Hospitality Group. Michael grew from a barback to Bar Manager within a three-year period. From there he was promoted to Beverage Director for two of their businesses and ultimately to the founding General Manager of the company’s first stand-alone bar. In the Fall of 2018, he knew he was ready to write an amazing next chapter and joined the team at Death & Co in NYC as their General Manager. Since joining the team, Michael has been able to help fine-tune aspects of the culture and operations. In the Winter of 2019, Michael was named the National Director of Operations for Gin & Luck.
